摘要
      从2006年10月党的十六届六中全会开始，社会主义和谐社会建设全面展开。教育事业在我国各项事业的可持续发展中占有基础性的战略地位，高校更是建设和谐社会、发展先进文化的重要组成部分。高校思想政治教育既是构建社会主义和谐社会的重要内容和任务，又是构建社会主义和谐社会的重要途径和手段。构建和谐社会的伟大进程使高校思想政治工作面临着新的形势、新的问题，同时也提供了新的机遇。如何在和谐社会构建中积极探索高校思想政治工作的新路子，本文提出的一些观点和措施对高校教师和政工人员会有一定的启迪。
      全文由二个部分组成:
      第一部分:和谐社会构建中高校思想政治教育工作面临的新形势。分析了构建和谐社会为新时期高校思想政治教育工作提供的新机遇，明确了构建和谐社会为新时期高校思想政治教育工作确立的新理念，提出了高校思想政治工作在和谐社会构建中的新方式。
      第二部分:和谐社会构建中高校思想政治教育工作的基本内容。从高校思想政治教育要促进教师和学生两个主体间关系的和谐、当代大学生思想道德素质的和谐发展以及当代大学生心理素质的和谐发展二个方面进行了分析和阐释，并对如何实现和谐提出了明确要求。
      第三部分:和谐社会构建中高校思想政治教育实施的有效途径。要实现高校思想政治工作对和谐校园乃至和谐社会建设的积极促进作用，发挥出其应有的作用，从实现途径上对如何把好“新生入学、信息网络、校园文化”这二个关口进行了深刻分析和阐述。
      本文试图通过对和谐社会构建中高校思想政治教育工作的全面分析，探寻新形势下加强和改进高等院校思想政治教育工作的新途径和新方法，为如何在全面提升大学生素质，培养社会主义建设合格人才，建设好社会主义和谐社会中更好发挥作用提供一些参考和借鉴。

Abstract
      Since the Sixth Plenary Session of its Sixteenth  Central Committee in October, 2006, the construction of harmonious society has been carried out in full swing. Education leads the strategic priority in the sustained development of our country. Tertiary education is a more important part in construction of harmonious society and developing advanced culture. Ideological and political education in tertiary education is not only the important aspect and task, but also the significant channel and means in the construction of harmonious society. The great process of construction of harmonious society not only brings new situation and new problems, but also provides new opportunities for ideological and political education of tertiary education. The issue of how to explore new approaches of ideological and political education in construction of harmonious society has been presented to provide teachers and political personnel in tertiary education some points of view and measures.
      Three sections are presented in the following:
      Section one is about the new situaiton faced in the ideological and political education in construction of harmonious society.The new opportunities,new idea and new ways for ideological and political education in the new period has been analysed,well defined and provided for the construction of harmonious society.
      Section two talks about the basic content of ideological and political education in construction of harmonious society. Three aspects and how to implement harmony have been analysed  and  specified  in  this  section.  They  are  ideological  and  political  education contributing to the harmonious relationship between teachers  and students,  the current development of ideological and political qualities of college students and the psychological qualities of college students.
      Section three focuses on the effective ways of implementing ideological and political education in construction of harmonious society. How to carry out "freshman orientation, information network and campus culture" has to analysed to make positive effect upon the harmonious campus and harmonious society through ideological and political education.
      This essay attempts to pursue and new approaches and ways on how to strengthen and improve ideological and political education in tertiary education in the new situation through the well analysis of implementing ideological and political education in construction of harmonious society. Besides, some effective reference and suggestions have been provided on how  to  improve  the  qualities  of  college  students,  train  qualified  talents for socialist construction and building better harmonious socialist society.
