摘要
      改革开放以来，我国国民经济保持了平稳、较快的发展态势，东部沿海地区更是获得了长足的发展。然而，由于国家长期实行的区域非均衡发展战略，进入20世纪90年代后，中、西部地区与东部地区的发展差距逐渐拉大。由此而引发的一系列矛盾和社会问题日益突出。“中部塌陷”的观点被很多专家学者用来描述当前中部地区面临的发展状况。促进中部崛起，实现区域协调发展，引起党和国家的高度重视。有关中部发展战略等问题，已成为理论界和学术界讨论研究的热点课题，反映出研究中部崛起问题具有重要性和现实性。武汉作为中部地区的特大城市，历史上就是区域经济中心，具有突出的区位、市场、资源、科教优势，也有着雄厚的产业基础，是东西部地区资源、信息、技术等交流和交换的战略节点。武汉率先在中部崛起，是使武汉市更好地担负起承东启西的战略支点作用，带动中部地区跨越式发展的客观需要。
      为此，文章通过武汉与中部其他省会城市的综合实力的比较，分析武汉发展的优势和不足，面临的机遇和挑战，并提出武汉在中部率先崛起的战略选择。本文着重从以下几个方面进行探讨。第一部分导论。这部分介绍了文章的研究目的和意义、相关理论研究现状、文章研究的内容和方法。第二部分论述城市发展的特点，总结了我国典型城市的发展，介绍了中部城市的格局。第三章分析了武汉城市实力，通过建立合理的指标体系和运用系统分析方法，比较武汉与中部其他省会城市的城市实力，找出武汉的竞争优势和不足之处，分析了武汉面临的机遇和挑战。第四部对武汉经济崛起的标志进行设计和定量分析。第五部分在战略思想的指导下提出产业强市战略、创新跨越战略、城市联动战略。第六部分主要对策。包括创新型城市建设的科技对策、提升武汉产业实力的财税推动政策和武汉可持续发展的人才与文化培养对策。第七章全文总结与展望。主要对武汉发展战略进行总结，介绍文章的创新点，并对武汉未来的发展和将起到的作用进行展望。

Abstract
      Since the reform and opening up in 1978, the economy in china has developed at a stable and rapid speed, especially, the East coastal areas. Because of the long implement of the non-balanced development strategy of different areas from 1990s ,the development gap between central-China ,the western area and eastern area becomes larger and larger ,which rise to a series of contradictions and social issues. The view point "Central-China collapse" has been accepted by most specialists and scholars to describe the recent situation of central-China. How to promote the development of central-China and realize the coordinated development of the areas arouse great attention of our Party and nation. Researches on the middle development become very popular in academic and theory circle ,which reflects the importance and reality of the rise of central-China .As a megacity in central-China, Wuhan is the core of regional economy in history ,owns prominent advantages in geography, market, resources and education .Wuhan is the strategic contact of communication and exchange of resources ,information and technology between areas. To rise firstly is the need for Wuhan to bore the function of strategic contact between areas and to promote leap-forward development of central-China.
      So, through comparing the competition between Wuhan and other provincial capitals in central-China, I find out the strength and weakness of Wuhan, the opportunities and threats that Wuhan faces ,and then bring up the idea and important points of strategy for Wuhan to rise firstly. This thesis mainly discuss the following aspects .The first part is the introduction of regional development theory, including aims and significance of this thesis, the present researches status in China and abroad, as well as research content and methods. The second part is about the development characteristics of cities ,including the development characteristics of typical cities in China, the conditions of central-China .The third part is the study on competition of Wuhan ,including introduction of urban pattern of central-China, competition between Wuhan and other provincial capitals in central-China ,the strength and weakness of Wuhan ,and the opportunities and threats of Wuhan .The forth part is the prediction of the rise symbol of Wuhan economy .The fifth part is the main development  strategy  of  Wuhan,  including  Technology,  industries  and  city cooperation .The last part is the summary and prediction.
